TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - Two men in their 30s were arrested after officers found more than one pound of marijuana in their vehicle. Earl D. Anderson, 32, of Jerome, and Jason V. Higgins, 33, of Twin Falls, were arraigned in Twin Falls County court Thursday. Anderson is being held on a $10,000 bond and Higgins is being held on at $20,000 bond. Preliminary hearings for both are set for July 15 at 8:15 a.m. before Judge Roger Harris at the Twin Falls County Courthouse. At about 12:24 p.m. Wednesday, Twin Falls Police received a tip of a suspicious vehicle, after someone spotted suspicious activity at car rental store, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Police followed a vehicle with allegedly more windshield tint than allowed by state law. After the vehicle ran a red light officers pulled the vehicle over. According to court documents, the officer could smell marijuana and the occupants of the vehicle looked nervous. Upon questioning the driver, officers learned a trip had been made to Oregon to purchase marijuana for supposed medical reasons. In the vehicle, police found a cooler with a plastic bag containing 499.3 grams of fresh marijuana.

Police also found other drug paraphernalia and small plastic containers with marijuana in the vehicle, according to court documents. During questioning, Anderson admitted to traveling to Oregon with Higgins on Tuesday to purchase the marijuana, and returned Wednesday, according to court documents. Higgins and Anderson were arrested and were booked at the Twin Falls County Jail.
