On Saturday, March 28, 2015, at approximately 10:42 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, injury crash westbound I-86 at milepost 17, near Raft River.

Tracy Towle, 50, of Twin Falls, was westbound on I-86 in a 2005 Dodge Neon in the left travel lane.  Kristy Bolander, 29, of Rigby, was also westbound in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a fifth wheel trailer in the right travel lane.  The Dodge Neon veered into the right lane and struck the trailer from behind.  Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder.

Neither Bolander nor her passenger, David Franck, 68, of Rigby, were injured in the crash.  Both were wearing their seatbelts.  Towle was transported to the Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello by air ambulance.  It is unknown if she was wearing her seatbelt.

The westbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately twenty minutes to create a landing zone for the air ambulance.  The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
