U of I, IBOE, Deny Liability In Lawsuit
(AP) The University of Idaho and the state Board of Education are denying allegations made against them in a lawsuit filed by a former student who fell out of a fraternity house window in 2009. Lawyers for the university and state board recently filed responses in the lawsuit brought by Amanda Andaverde of Caldwell and her parents. Plaintiffs claim the university, state board and several
fraternities and sororities on the Moscow campus did not do enough to ensure the safety of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house where Andaverde was injured. She suffered serious injuries after falling 27-feet.
The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports that ) lawyers for the UI and state board claim liability should be focused on other parties in the case. Lawyers for the SAE fraternity have yet to respond.
