About two hundred Canyon Ridge High School students took the morning off to protest State Superintendent Tom Luna’s school reform plan. The Students left the school at about nine. They had planned on meeting students from Twin Falls High school but the plan went array when Twin Falls High School Principal Ben Allen Refused to allow his students to leave. Chanting slogans like "Luna smells like Tuna", the Canyon Ridge Students marched to City Hall. Most students were concerned about the plan’s impact on teachers, though several students we talked to appeared to be unclear on the plan's points. The students stood on the city hall lawn for about a half an hour before police sent the students back to class. The majority of students we talked to say they heard about the plan from their teachers and at least in one case from a parent..who happened to be a teacher. So far Superintendent Luna has not commented on the protests.
