Utah Man Chokes on Spit and Wrecks Ice Cream Truck, Burns to the Ground
LAYTON, Utah (AP) — A semitrailer load of ice cream has melted in a fiery crash on Highway 89 through Utah.
Layton police Lt. Shawn Horton says the accident happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday when the driver apparently started choking on his own saliva and tried to pull over.
He told officers that he tried to brake but jack-knifed and hit a guardrail, puncturing the gas tank and sending the truck into flames.The 59-year-old driver was not hurt, but the truck and its ice cream were a total loss.The driver had been transporting his load from Washington state to Aurora, Colo.
