LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A 65-year-old Cache Valley man has died after drowning in Idaho.

The Herald Journal reports that Franklin County, Idaho, sheriff's deputies were patrolling along the Bear River on Friday afternoon when a group reported being separated from the man while tubing. Volunteers fanned out in a search and rescue effort in the Oneida Narrows area.

Chief Deputy Karen Hatch says that is when other tubers reported spotting someone in the river. Authorities located the man but pronounced him dead. Hatch says there were no signs of foul play and the man may have suffered a medical emergency before drowning. The man's name is not being released pending notification of family.
