Utah Media Group KSL Suspends Gun Classifieds

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — KSL has announced it's temporarily suspending firearms listings on its popular classifieds website in light of last week's school shooting in Connecticut. A statement issued Tuesday by the Salt Lake City media company's management says Friday's deadly rampage raised broad questions about the ease of access to guns. Officials say those issues need to be resolved.

Chris Lee of KSL.com parent company Deseret Digital Media says (http://bit.ly/UDPbz3 ) managers felt it was appropriate to halt gun ads during a time of national mourning. The statement expressed sadness over the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Twenty children and six adults died in the incident, and the shooter also killed his mother and himself. KSL's move comes as other companies, including Dick's Sporting Goods, have suspended some gun sales.
