Burley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - An early morning vehicle fire has led to the arrest of a woman who told authorities she was “getting back at her ex-boyfriend.”

Cassia county sheriff Jay Heward said that deputies and the Burley Fire department responded to a Jeep on fire just after midnight this Wednesday morning. Crews found a Jeep on fire at 300 West and 7 north. Both the cassia Regional Medical Center and the Minidoka Hospital were told to look for people who may have suffered burns.

At 3:40 am the Minidoka ambulance was sent to 16 south 3rd street in Paul for a female who reported being burned by hot water. Minidoka deputies responded where they arrested 19 year old Myra Gutierrez on outstanding warrants. She was transported to the jail after refusing to be transported to the hospital.

During an interview with the Cassia County Sheriff’s office the woman reportedly confessed to starting the Jeep on fire in order to “get back at her ex-boyfriend.” She was charged with third degree arson.
