TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Three families had to be helped by the American Red Cross after floods forced them from their home.

According to Twin Falls Police a number of homes experienced severe flooding. Most homes had minor damage by rain that fell Tuesday and Wednesday. The city is warning people to not allow children to play in flooded areas.

Officials say water is running swiftly in the cities coulees. Citizens are also asked not to swim in flooded retention ponds. The city also notes the water is not clean.
