Idaho’s Attorney General Responds to Gay Marriage Ruling [Video]

BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) -- After Monday's (Oct. 6) Supreme Court's decision, same-sex marriage is now essentially legal in 30 states. Meanwhile, Idaho is still waiting on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to rule on the issue. Idaho's Attorney General Lawrence Wasden says the Supreme Court's ruling has no impact on our state.

"The decision by the U.S. Supreme Court has no legal impact here in Idaho," Wasden said. "The lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Idaho's marriage law is still pending before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The appellate court has also issued a stay pending the decision, meaning Idaho's prohibition on same-sex marriage remains in effect."
