Protestors from the animal rights group Mercy For Animals staged a protest at the Twin Falls Walmart story yesterday.  The group claims suppliers that raise the pigs that Walmart buys for meat distribution in its stores are using inhumane treatment of those pigs.  They claim the pigs are raised in pens so small they can’t even turn around and in some cases the pigs are tortured in other ways.  One of the protestors, Phil Letten, the national campaign corrdinator for Mercy For Animals,  says  the group wants Walmart to stop using animals from these suppliers as many other retailers have done.  There are over 100 Walmart locations the group plans to protest over the next few days.  They are in Boise today.
