TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Magic Valley authorities arrested a Washington man after trying to steal gas. According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office 32 year old Brandon Huffman of Yakima Washington was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

However, charges of aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, burglary, and providing false information to an officer are pending.

The sheriff’s office says on December 22nd, just before 2pm dispatch got a call from someone saying a man was trying to steal gasoline from a private tank at 2246 North and 2700 East. The person who called it in said when they tried to get a license plate number from the pickup the suspect “almost ran him over.”

Deputies were later able to locate the pickup and Huffman in a ravine. Deputies also learned the vehicle was stolen out of Twin Falls City. A stolen rifle was also located in the pickup.
