Mountain Home Stabbings Suspect Arrested

Mountain Home Police say they have a suspect in custody in connection with the stabbing of five people at a local bar early Sunday morning. Police say 26, Juan S. Tabares, who resides at the Mountain Home Air Force Base, is charged with five counts of aggravated battery, one count of aggravated assault and one count of destruction of evidence.  All of the charges are felonies. Witnesses told police that around 1:45 a.m. Sunday an altercation broke out at Charlie's Place bar in Mountain Home, which resulted in five victims being stabbed. Three of the victims were flown by air ambulance to Boise hospitals.  One victim was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance. We are told all but one of the victims has been released from the hospital. He remains in stable condition and may be released later today. Mountain Home Police investigators worked with the Mountain Home Air Force Base Office of Special Investigations to make the arrest of Tabares, who is married to a U.S. Air Force airman stationed at Mountain Home AFB. This case still remains under investigation.
