GOODING, Idaho (KTVB) - A Wendell woman died at a Twin Falls hospital after the pickup she was traveling in was hit by a semi-truck early Sunday morning.

The two-vehicle crashed happened at the intersection of 1800 East and 3400 South at about 2:15 a.m. Idaho State Police say the driver of the semi, 43-year-old Christopher Weaver, of Twin Falls, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the pickup.

All three occupants in the pickup were transported to local hospitals, including 54-year-old Rosa Fuentes-Guevara, of Wendell, who was taken by air ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

Fuentes-Guevara later succumbed to her injuries, troopers said. Weaver was taken by air ambulance to a Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Police say no one was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The crash is still under investigation. Police have not yet said whether Weaver could face charges in connection to the crash.
