BOISE -- A winery or maybe a Bed and Breakfast - those are just some of the ideas residents are pitching to do with the Idaho governor's mansion, formerly the home of J.R. Simplot. Back in October, the Governor's Housing Committee asked for feedback on what to do with the abandoned abode. Then they met last Monday to review that feedback. The Department of Administration says about 50 people wrote in, but the comment period is over. Roughly 75 percent said to sell the mansion, while the rest wanted to see the 7,000 square foot house become something else. Committee member and state Rep. Phyllis King says they will likely wait for the Legislature to start up and let Idaho's politicians decide. Via KTVB.com
