TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- May 17th, Idaho voters will be at the polls and cast ballots in the primary election. Idahoan's will choose who will run on their party ticket for the November general election.

A number of Idaho senate, house, sheriff, county commissioners, and prosecutor seats are being challenged this year. According to the Twin Falls County Clerks Office, voters must declare a party affiliation when they show up to vote on Tuesday May 17th. If voters wanted to change beforehand the deadline was March 11th.

Party affiliation will determine which ballot the voter gets. If you are an unaffiliated voter not registered with any party, you can declare an affiliation by signing the poll book. If a person is a new voter, voting for the first time, they can choose a party after filling out a voter registration card. Any voter may vote the Democratic Ballot and Non-Partisan Ballot.
