WILDER, Idaho (AP) — A Wilder man was crushed by his car when it slipped off his jack while he was working on it.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Canyon County Sheriff's officials say the 36-year-old was killed Thursday. Paramedics, a quick response unit and the sheriff's office responded to the report.

Officials say residents should be sure to take safety precautions when working on heavy machinery like vehicles, and to have someone nearby in case of an emergency.
