JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)- The Jerome City Council voted to hire Mike Williams as its city administrator. The city announced it's decision to recommend Williams to the city council last week. The council agreed to pay Williams $85,000 dollars in an annual salary. He will start on February 3.

Williams has worked for the City of Twin Falls since 2011 under Twin Falls City Manager Travis Rothweiler a former Jerome City Administrator.

Mayor Davis stated “I am thrilled to recommend that the City Council hire Mike Williams as Jerome’s next City Administrator. His knowledge, experience and dedication to our community are exceptional. We will be lucky to have him lead our organization.”

Williams served as Vice-President of Government Relations  and Team Lead for Zions First National Bank before working for the City of Twin Falls. Williams received a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Boise State University in May of 2008, earning recognition in the Pi Alpha Alpha Honors Society.

While studying at Boise State University, Williams received his first experience in local government through working in an internship capacity with the City of Jerome in the summer of 2007. Williams did his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University – Idaho, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in Business in 2005.
