Idaho’s largest wind power project is now up and running here in the Magic Valley.  The half a billion dollar project includes 122 turbines at 11 separate locations near Hagerman, Bliss and Burley.  The joint project by GE Energy Financial Services, Exergy Development Group  and others is now producing enough power from the wind to provide enough electricity to nearly 40,000 homes and indirectly supports about 2200 jobs.  The project was in the planning stage for about five years and took five months to complete construction.  The power generated by the turbines is being sold to Idaho Power Company.
