Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM Thursday (2/6/14) till 5 PM Saturday (2/8/14)

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow in the Treasure and Magic Valleys, which is in effect from 5 PM this evening (2/6/14) to 5 PM Saturday (2/8/14).

• Snow amounts: 3 to 9 inches over a 48 hour period.
• Winds: Variable 5 to 10 MPH
• Timing: Light to moderate snow will fall intermittently from Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.  Snow will mix with or change to rain late Saturday at elevations below around 3,000 feet.
• Impacts: Difficult travel on snow-covered roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will primarily cause travel difficulties.  Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility.  Use caution while driving.
