SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX) – A woman was taken into custody Sunday night after she allegedly fired a gunshot in a home in Shoshone.

The incident, which happened a little after 11 p.m., occurred in the 200 block of West B. St..

According to the Shoshone Police Department, when officers arrived at the residence, they were able to quickly secure the scene and conduct interviews of witnesses. They were then able to positively identify the female suspect, who’s identity, according to police, will not be released until formal charges are filed with the prosecutor's office.

Officers tracked the woman to her residence, where they challenged her to surrender. She was taken into custody without further incident.

After getting the scene under control, according to police, officer’s learned that the suspect had forced her way into a residence, where she brandished the firearm at four to five people. When she was forcefully pushed out of the residence by one of its occupants, she fired a round from a .357 handgun. Police found the gun at the scene.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
