HARRISON, Idaho (AP) — The Kootenai County, Idaho, sheriff's office says a 52-year-old woman from Colorado has been rescued from the south end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Sgt. Ryan Higgins said Martha George was at a Harrison, Idaho, beach on Friday afternoon with her grandchildren and decided to get into the water. Witnesses say she was in water about waist deep, swimming toward a swim dock. When the witnesses saw her next she was face down in the water.

Higgins says the woman was immediately pulled from the lake and CPR was started. Deputies were told that medics were able to get a pulse. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition was not known. Higgins says it's not known what caused the woman to fall unconscious in the water. Her hometown was not immediately available.
