Another setback for a company wanting to build a zip line over the Snake River Canyon.

Tuesday night the Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission voted against the proposed zip line being proposed by Magic Valley Flight Simulation LLC.  The vote was 3 to 3 after two commission members recused themselves from the voting.  The group has been wanting to build the zip line over the canyon for some time but so far has been unable to secure permission.  Jody Tatum, a spokeswoman for the group, says they will appeal this latest decision.  The plan is for a cable to be constructed over a stretch of the Snake River Canyon in north Twin Falls that will carry people to view the area.  Proponents say it’s a good plan to help bolster tourism in the area.  Opponents expressed their opposition due to possible damage to the canyon area.
