Clif Bar Plans to Build Plant in Twin Falls
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Clif Bar and Energy announced plans to build a multimillion dollar baking facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. The Twin Falls City Council and Urban Renewal Agency signed a development agreement with the company to build a $90 million 300,000 square foot plant just South of the Chobani Plant.
Initially the company will create 250 jobs but could end up employing 450. Total investment could reach $160 million. This will be the first company owned facility. Plans are to be open within two years. The Twin Falls URA will finance new infrastructure with tax increment financing.
The money will be paid back through property tax assessments in a 20 year period. Clif makes a variety of food products including energy bars, energy gels, and drinks. The company plans on making specifically its Clif Bars and Z Bars.
