LA GRANDE, Ore. (KTVB) – Four people were injured Monday morning after a van pulling a trailer crashed off the eastbound lanes of Interstate 84 and rolled down an embankment about 18 miles west of La Grande, Oregon.

Oregon State Police say the crash happened around 7:40 a.m. near milepost 241. The van came to rest about 50 feet below I-84.

Troopers say two of the four people injured are reported to be in critical condition. They were flown from the scene in an air ambulance. The other two were transported to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Police, fire and medical personnel responded to the crash scene.

Seven other people were not taken to a hospital and arrangements were being made to transport them from the scene.

OSP troopers are investigating the cause the crash.
