The Idaho House State Affairs Committee has voted to send HB 222, which would allow people with a concealed weapons permit to carry firearms on college and university campuses in the state, on to the full house.  The bill would allow public colleges and universities to regulate firearms in undergraduate dormitories. The committee voted 11-8 to pass the bill to the full House yesterday.  The National Rifle Association is in favor of the legislation. But the administration at Boise State, Idaho State, the University of Idaho and College of Southern Idaho opposed the bill. Currently each college is allowed to set its firearms policy.  The bill would  also allow guns at Bronco Stadium and Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State campus.
