Some of us had that parent growing up who was always on us about leaving the light on - heck, maybe some of us had both parents on us about leaving the bathroom light on after using it.

Fast-forward to adulthood, and many of us have become our parents. And it's not just with the lights either - most of us are looking for ways to save in all areas of our lives.

"Money Doesn't Grow On Trees!"

It's a saying we've probably all heard before, but it's true because every penny counts. It's why when we learned that Idaho Power customers could be seeing some relief on their bills soon, we got excited!

"Idaho Power has filed the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA), the final piece of its annual spring cost adjustments with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC)," Idaho Power said in a news release.

"As a net result of the PCA, the Fixed Cost Adjustment (FCA), and an additional filing related to relicensing the Hells Canyon Complex (HCC), all Idaho customers will see a price decrease if the requests are approved as filed."

This is good news, but now the question is: How much could we be saving?

The Impact Of The 2025 Filing On Idaho Power's Residential Customers

Remember that thing we said before about "every penny counts?" Keep that in mind because while we'll see some savings, it might not be as much as some people are hoping for.

According to Idaho Power, "a typical Idaho residential customer using 950 kilowatt-hours per month will see an overall monthly decrease of 8.26%, or approximately $9.97."

If the filing requests are approved, we could see this change go into effect by June 1st.
