Fatal Crash Near Melba Leaves One Dead

Crash Occurred Friday Afternoon

Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a death tality on Friday, February 7, 2025. The crash happened around 3:56 p.m. on Melba Road, just west of Melba.

Driver Lost Control and Rolled

According to ISP, a 24-year-old man from Mexico was driving eastbound in a maroon 1993 Nissan Altima when the car ran off the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll before coming to rest on the right shoulder.

Driver Died at the Scene

Authorities confirmed the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to injuries at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

Crash South of Rockland Injures Three

A single-vehicle crash on SH37, south of Rockland, left three juveniles injured on February 9, 2025, at 10:37 a.m.. Idaho State Police report that a blue 2006 Pontiac G6 went off the left shoulder, overcorrected, and then struck an embankment after leaving the right shoulder. Two juveniles suffered critical injuries and were transported by air ambulance, while a third was taken by ground ambulance with minor injuries. Alcohol was a contributing factor, and it is unknown if seatbelts were worn. The roadway was blocked for approximately two hours.

Single-Vehicle Crash East of Jerome

A 24-year-old man from Jerome was injured when his 2017 Ford Fusion crashed westbound on Highway 25, east of Jerome, on February 9, 2025, at 8:42 p.m.. The driver failed to negotiate a curve, hit an embankment, and overturned, coming to rest inside a shop where the vehicle caught fire. He was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital.

Injury Crash in Boise Sends Two to the Hospital

A collision on eastbound I-184 at mile marker 3 in Ada County resulted in two hospitalizations on February 9, 2025, at 9:39 p.m.. According to ISP, a BMW 325 struck a Volkswagen Passat, causing the Volkswagen to crash into the median barrier. The 28-year-old woman from Caldwell driving the BMW was uninjured, but the 21-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen and his 20-year-old female passenger, both from Boise, were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Crash South of Fruitland Sends Four to the Hospital

A three-vehicle crash at the intersection of South US-95 and SW 1st Avenue in Payette County left four people injured on February 9, 2025, at 6:19 p.m.. ISP reports that a Chevrolet Silverado turning east onto SW 1st Avenue ran into a northbound Kia Forte, also impacting a Subaru Legacy stopped at the intersection. The 29-year-old male driver of the Kia and one juvenile passenger were transported by ground ambulance, while a 29-year-old female passenger and another juvenile were airlifted to a local hospital. The drivers of the Silverado and Subaru were not injured.
