Fatal Crash on I-84 in Ada County Under Investigation by ISP

A collision on westbound I-84 early Monday morning resulted in the death of a Meridian man, according to the Idaho State Police.

Accident Victim Struck By Passing Car

The incident occurred at 2:29 a.m. on February 10, 2025, near mile marker 42 in Ada County. A Kia Rio and a Subaru Impreza were both traveling west when the Kia hit the back of the Subaru, causing the Subaru to run off of the roadway.

The Kia became disabled in the lane of travel, and the driver exited the vehicle.

Shortly after, a Mitsubishi Mirage, which was also traveling westbound, hit the Kia’s driver.

One Fatality Reported

The driver of the Kia, a 23-year-old Meridian man, died at the scene. The 32-year-old Subaru driver and 25-year-old Mitsubishi driver, both from Caldwell, were not transported for medical treatment.

Traffic Impact and Investigation

Emergency crews blocked three lanes of I-84 for about three hours while responding to the crash and clearing the scene.

The Idaho State Police continues to investigate the incident.
