A juvenile is dead and four people are in the hospital with injuries following a head-on collision accident in Idaho.

Idaho Driver Causes Fatal Accident in Bonner County, Idaho

The Idaho State Police have released information on a deadly accident that happened Friday morning around 8:35 near Elmira in Bonner County, Idaho. The report from ISP states that the accident happened on US95 near mile marker 490.

Details of the accident include:

a 61-year-old male from Moyie Springs, Idaho, was traveling southbound on US95 in a blue 2011 Dodge Ram pickup. The driver of the Dodge Ram moved into the northbound lane and attempted to pass multiple southbound vehicles, colliding head-on with a black 2008 Ford Edge traveling northbound, in the northbound lane. The Ford Edge was driven by a 33-year-old female from Otis Orchards, Washington.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup was the sole occupant and was transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance. The driver of the Ford Edge, her 33-year-old female passenger, from Deer Park, Washington, and a juvenile were also transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance. There was a 4th passenger in the Ford Edge, a juvenile, that succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

The accident is under investigation by ISP.
