Do You Remember When Downtown Twin Falls Looked Like A Forest?
If you are new to the Magic Valley, you may not know that a few years ago Downtown Twin Falls was given an intense facelift. In fact, you may not even recognize the old Twin Falls in pictures because it looked so different.
Proof Downtown Twin Falls Used to Look Like A Beautiful Forest
Before the Downtown Twin Falls rejuvenation, Main Street (technically Main Ave) looked like a forest. Both sides of the street from Idaho Street to Gooding Street were lined with lush green, towering trees. The trees gave downtown a magical feel but they also caused and posed a variety of issues for the city and business owners.
Sidewalks were cracking from the growth of roots, leaves and branches would litter the sidewalks and street, and the trees took up a lot of space that is now used for parking and wider sidewalks. Despite the issues, you can’t deny that old Twin Falls felt like a beautiful forest you’d see in a magical movie.

Another interesting thing you probably noticed in the pictures, other than the trees, is how many businesses have changed and buildings that have disappeared and new ones have been constructed. The section of downtown near Hansen Street and the Downtown Commons is completely unrecognizable in pictures from a decade ago.
