UPDATE: 76 Year Old Pedestrian Passes Away After Being Struck By Car in Idaho
UPDATE: Idaho State Police have reported now that the passed away from her injuries at the hospital on November 7th.
ORIGINAL STORY: Late on Tuesday afternoon in Southern Idaho, an elderly woman was hit by a car while attempting to cross a road in Mountain Home.
Elderly Woman Hit By a Car and Seriously Injured in Idaho
The Idaho State Police have reported that a 76-year-old woman was hit by a car driven by an 86-year-old woman while she was crossing a street around 6:30 PM. The accident was at the intersection of American Legion Blvd at N 14th Street E. The report from authorities states the following about the accident:
A gray 2015 Subaru Forester driven by an 86-year-old woman from Grand View, was traveling eastbound on American Legion Boulevard. A 75-year-old woman from Mountain Home was in the crosswalk when she was struck by the Forester. She sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Forester was not injured.
The accident is still being investigated by ISP and it took around 3 and a half hours to clear the scene of the accident and help those in need of attention.
A serious fatal accident was reported by ISP earlier Friday when the driver of a semi-truck crashed into the back of a car that had experienced a mechanic failure. The accident happened on I84 near Jerome and a 33-year-old woman was killed in the crash.
