A fatal accident Sunday afternoon claimed 1 life and blocked a highway south of Twin Falls for hours and a separate accident claimed the life of a young boy and sent another child to the hospital.

Tragic Accident South of Twin Falls Claims 1 Life Over the Weekend

Idaho State Police are investigating the tragic crash that happened on Sunday afternoon at about 2:15 PM on US93 at milepost 8 near Rogerson in Twin Falls County. The accident involved a Toyota Prius and a Chevy Silverado truck, according to the police report online:

A 32-year-old female from Wilmington, California was traveling northbound on US93, near milepost 8, in a 2010 Toyota Prius. The Prius crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup pulling a trailer, driven by a 50-year-old male from Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The female driver of the Toyota Prius succumbed to her injuries at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota Prius, a 27-year-old female from Los Angeles, California was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was not transported. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident blocked the road for around 3 hours as the Idaho State Police, Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, and Elko Fire responded to the scene.

2 Juveniles Involved in Fatal Gooding ATV Accident Sunday

Local TV news station KMVT is also reporting a fatal accident involving 2 juveniles in Gooding on Sunday afternoon at about 4 PM. The children were riding a 4-wheeler when the accident happened. A 7-year-old boy was killed in the accident and a 5-year-old girl was critically injured and taken to Boise by air ambulance.
