Early Tuesday afternoon, Idaho State Police responded to a severe crash between a car and a semi-truck on US93 south of Twin Falls.

One of the drivers was killed.

Car vs Semi Fatality Accident South of Twin Falls on US93

The tragic accident happened on Tuesday afternoon. Idaho State Police responded to the crash at 12:41 PM on US93 at mile marker 38, south of Twin Falls. The police report states:

A 37-year-old female of Twin Falls, ID, was driving southbound on US93 at milepost 38 in a 2004 Cadillac Deville. The Cadillac crossed the center line and struck a 2017 Freightliner semi-truck pulling a flatbed trailer driving northbound on US93. The semi-truck was driven by a 47-year-old male of Twin Falls, ID. The driver of the Cadillac sustained critical injuries and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the crash.

Neither driver was wearing their seatbelt when the crash happened. The accident blocked lanes northbound and southbound on the highway for about 3 hours.

In addition to the response from the Idaho State Police, assistance was given by the Filer Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics, and the Idaho Transportation Department.

There have been 2 other fatal accidents in Southern Idaho in the last few days.

On Sunday, ISP responded to a fatal accident north of Shoshone. The accident happened sometime Saturday night or after midnight Sunday morning. A 20-year-old male was killed when his truck rolled on 520 N near the intersection of 221 E.

A male was killed in Bannock County on I-15 Friday evening while riding a motorcycle. The rider was not wearing a helmet when his bike left the road and overturned in the median.

All accidents in this story are under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
