Early October Motorcycle Injury Accident in Idaho Upgraded to Fatal by ISP

The Idaho State Police have issued an update to a motorcycle accident that happened in early October in eastern Idaho. Initially, the driver and the passenger were injured and taken to a local hospital; now one of the riders has passed away from those injuries sustained.

The Idaho State Police issued the new report late Sunday evening regarding the passing of the motorcycle rider. The accident happened a few minutes before 5 PM on October 9th, 2025, east of Swan Valley on US26 at mile marker 372.

The ISP report states:

• A 69-year-old male driver from Idaho Falls, with a 68-year-old female passenger from Idaho Falls, was traveling westbound on US26 on a 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
• The male failed to negotiate a curve, and the bike went off the road.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet when the accident happened. The male driver was taken by air ambulance with critical injuries to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on October 29th.

The female passenger was also transported to a local hospital with injuries.

This accident is still under investigation and will be updated as more information is shared. It is also worth noting that there are irregularities in the ISP report, as it states that the year of death was 2029, rather than 2025.

Around the same time as the motorcycle accident in early October, ISP also reported a fatal crash about 10 miles away, at mile marker 365 on US26, on October 6th. That accident involved a Volkswagen that struck a cow on the highway and was then hit by a Dodge truck. The driver of the Volkswagen was killed in the crash.
