Man Barricades Himsel in a Trailer and Forces Closure of Idaho Highway
Idaho State Police assisted the Butte County Sheriff’s Office with a potentially dangerous, or deadly, situation in Southern Idaho on Thursday afternoon.
Idaho State Police Assist in Butte County Barricaded Man Situation
Authorities in Butte City, Idaho requested the assistance of the Idaho State Police after a man barricaded himself in a trailer. He was believed to be armed and had made previous threats against law enforcement. ISP SWAT were called to help.
The highway, US20-26 was closed to all traffic between milepost 251 and 253.
The original release was issued just before 12:30 in the afternoon and police had resolved the situation within 2 hours. ISP updated their report at 2:25 PM that the man in the trailer was no longer a danger or issue. No injuries or crimes were reported
There was also a fire reported in the area but it did not affect or have anything to do with the barricaded man situation.
