There have been half a dozen deadly and serious injury accidents in Idaho over the last few days involving young drivers, and the most recent took the life of a female driver in Southern Idaho.

Idaho State Police are investigating the accident that happened Sunday afternoon south of Filer.

Tragic Southern Idaho Car Accident Claims the Life of Teen Driver

ISP says the accident happened on July 17th at 3:24 PM on 3700 N near the 2000 E intersection. 3700 N is also known as Balanced Rock Road. The speed limit in that location is 50 MPH.

The report from Idaho State Police says the car was headed east on 3700 when the accident happened, and the 2 occupants in the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts. The female driver was ejected from the car during the crash.

19-Year-Old Female Killed in Southern Idaho Car Crash

A silver 2000 Mercedes-Benz E340 sedan driven by a 19-year-old female from Filer with a 19-year-old male passenger from Twin Falls was traveling eastbound on 3700 N when it lost control and left the roadway, causing it to roll near the intersection of 2000 E.

Emergency responders took the female driver to St. Luke’s in Twin Falls, where she passed away. The male passenger was taken by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.

Idaho State Police Reported Three Fatal Car Accidents Over the Weekend

In addition to the fatal accident south of Filer, the Idaho State Police also responded to two other fatal crashes on Saturday and Sunday.

One accident involved a motorcycle crashing into an SUV near Post Falls, and the other accident happened in Northern Idaho when a driver crashed their car into a grove of trees.

Washington Motorcycle Driver Killed in Crash With SUV in Northern Idaho

An accident on Sunday morning around 11:40 in St. Maries took the life of a motorcycle driver. The crash happened on SH3 near mile marker 92.

A black 2025 Kawasaki ZX400 motorcycle driven by a 30-year-old Spokane man was traveling southbound on State Highway 3 when it failed to negotiate a curve.

Subsequently, the motorcycle went left of center and struck a 2016 Toyota Rav 4 driven by a 20-year-old Missoula man who was driving in the northbound lane.

The motorcycle driver was wearing his helmet but succumbed to his injuries after being transported by Life Flight to the Kootenai Health building.

The other deadly accident over the weekend happened in Post Falls when a driver crashed early Saturday morning into a grove of trees near mile marker 5 on SH53.

A blue 1997 Ford Explorer with a single male occupant was traveling westbound on State Highway 53 when it drifted off the right shoulder and crashed into a group of trees.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and was ejected from the SUV during the crash.
