1 Injured in Multi-Car Crash in Southern Idaho
Idaho State Police responded to an injury accident in Southern Idaho on Thursday involving 3 vehicles.
The accident happened on US26 in Bonneville County and 1 female driver was taken to the hospital with injuries.
In the report from the Idaho State Police they say the crash happened around 2:18 PM on January 9th at E 49th N and US26 in Bonneville County.
The accident was a chain reaction that they believe was initially caused by the obstructed view of one driver:
- A black Cadillac XT5, driven by a 44-year-old-female from Idaho Falls, was driving eastbound on E 49th N.
- A commercial semi was driving westbound and was attempting to turn onto westbound E 49th N, blocking the view of the Cadillac driver.
- A green Toyota 4Runner driven by a 34-year-old-male from Rigby, ID, was driving westbound in lane one.
- The black Cadillac was then struck by the green Toyota causing it to lose control.
- The Toyota then went into eastbound lanes striking a gray Ford Escape driven by a 49-year-old-female from Ammon, ID.
Everyone in the vehicles had seatbelts on when the crash happened and only the driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital.
The accident blocked the road for about an hour as the Idaho Transportation Department, Idaho Falls EMS and Fire assisted the ISP at the scene.
