The Idaho State Police are alerting residents in Twin Falls County of an officer-involved shooting which occurred Monday evening.

UPDATE: ISP released the following information on Thursday afternoon. The 45-year-old male who was injured on Monday evening during a police incident has passed away at the hospital. Updated info on the identity of the male and the manner of death may be released after the CITF concludes its investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: On Monday, May 15th, members of the Twin Falls Police Department and Sheriff’s Office served a civil protection order around 4:45 pm to a 45-year-old male. The incident happened around the 300 block of Fafnir Drive on the north side of Kimberly near Falls Avenue and not far from the Twin Falls Park and Idaho Power Hydroelectric Plant.

The man became uncooperative during the interaction with law enforcement and armed himself first with a knife and later with a shotgun. Around 6 pm, shots were fired and the man was critically injured. No members of the law enforcement teams reported injuries.

The 45-year-old male was airlifted to St. Luke’s Magic Valley.
