Idaho State Police didn’t give a specific location for the accident on I-84, only that it happened to the west of Bliss, and traffic was diverted off the highway at mile marker 141. The ISP report states the following about the trucks and their drivers:
A white 2022 Freightliner Cascadia semitruck, driven by a 29-year-old male from Salt Lake City, Utah, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle crossed the median.
The 2022 Freightliner collided with a green 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by a 37-year-old male from Houston, Texas.
The 2022 Freightliner ended up jackknifed, blocking the westbound lanes of the interstate. Tow trucks and other responders worked for hours to clear the road, diverting traffic to the east of the accident at mile marker 141, at the off-ramp to Highway 30 and Highway 26.
Both truck drivers were wearing seatbelts, and the news release doesn’t report injuries or that either driver required medical attention.
