An accident involving multiple vehicles in Idaho is believed to have been caused by a Tesla that failed to stop at an intersection.

Idaho State Police are investigating the accident that involved 4 vehicles and sent 4 people to the hospital, including 2 juveniles.

Electric Car Causes Injury Crash in Idaho After Failing to Stop at Sign

The accident happened around 8 AM on September 19th in Post Falls at the intersection of 14th Ave and Spokane Street. The ISP report states that a 2023 Tesla Model 3, driven by a 22-year-old female from Stafford, Texas, failed to stop at a stop sign. The Tesla was traveling westbound and was struck by a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee going through the intersection.

After being struck by the Jeep, the Tesla continued through the intersection and hit 2 more vehicles, a Chevy Silverado truck and a Chevy Tahoe SUV, parked in a residential driveway on 14th Ave. The Tesla ended up partially on top of the Tahoe and some damage to the home property was reported.

Injuries Reported in Post Falls Accident

In the news release from the Idaho State Police, it says that 4 people were injured:

The Tesla had two passengers, a 50-year-old female from Spokane Valley, WA and a juvenile. The driver and juvenile were both in seatbelts and child restraints, however, the female passenger was not wearing a seat belt. They were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The Jeep had two juvenile passengers. All occupants were wearing seatbelts and child restraints. All occupants were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The accident blocked the roads for about 3 and a half hours.
