Careful: Phone, Email Scams Targeting South Idaho Residents Now
Most Idaho adults have received a fishy phone call or email that has immediately put them on the defense. This year will be no different than past years when it comes to pathetic scammers targeting hard-working and retired southern Idaho residents.
Scams blow! Years ago I got hacked by some assclown who sent a virus to my computer, which resulted in music, wedding photos, and other personal information I had stored getting wiped out and held hostage for ransom. Of course, I didn't pay this delinquent a single dime but the loss of my stuff left me feeling very violated and pissed off. Lesson learned.

According to InterBank, the top 2025 scams targeting the country include emails and texts created with A-I, imposters posing as government officials asking for payments, deepfake communications of a romantic nature, and many others. Recently, I read a post on a southern Idaho rants/raves website from March 11 where a Twin Falls area resident warned others of a very "official" sounding caller posing as a Medicare representative. A comment from another area resident also mentioned a scam involving alleged "toll fees" and "parking passes."
