
Firefighter Deaths May Have ID Aryan Nation Link, Report Says
More details are coming in regarding the shootings of multiple firefighters in northern Idaho over the weekend.
A young suspect has reportedly been identified in the fatal shootings of two Coeur d'Alene firefighters and the injury of a third individual on June 29. A possible motive may have been revealed that could have a link to area white supremacy groups.
The body of a young Idaho man identified as Wess Roley, 20, was reportedly found along with a high-powered assault weapon in the mountains outside of Coeur d'Alene on Sunday.
Roley, who was found deceased, allegedly started a fire and then began shooting at responders as they dispatched to the scene, according to details shared by National Zero.

Two firefighters were killed shortly after responding to the scene, according to News Nation. Speculation that this act could have been in response to the anniversary of Idaho law enforcement's involvement in destroying a neo-Nazi compound on June 29, 2001 has begun to build momentum, according to Hindustan Times.

There are multiple hate groups linked to northern Idaho, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC has been tracking activity by these groups since 2000. Audio of the 9-1-1 call from firefighters has been released publicly. Frantic warnings are heard on the tape by responders telling fellow firefighters to avoid the area.
The current condition of the third victim is unknown, but it's been reported that the individual has been hospitalized.
