Donald Trump's Twitter account hasn't had a post to it since January 8, 2021. Now that Elon Musk has reinstated it, it's just a matter of time before followers of the former president will receive their first, much-anticipated correspondence in nearly two years.

Twitter banished Donald Trump less than forty-eight hours after the Capitol riots of January 6, 2021, citing concern over further violence in the United States. Trump's account was reactivated recently by the new Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk. Prior to his dealings with the social networking company, he was best known for his leadership involvement with SpaceX and Tesla, Inc.

Musk's impact on Twitter was felt immediately. A massive number of terminations and resignations have been taking place over the past two weeks in response to the billionaire's aggressive, dog-eat-dog style of management. Musk currently has 118 million followers, while Donald Trump has a respectable 87 million followers.

Personally, I've never liked Twitter, and don't see the point of "tweeting" out thoughts in 280 characters or less. It's a lazy form of communication and provides a person with the ability to hide behind words. I tried Twitter out years ago and stopped paying any attention to it around 2008. Tough talk, in particular, should be said to a person's face, and not from an app to a non-present audience.

I don't have an opinion either way about Donald Trump being back on Twitter. I support social networking company bosses having the right to do what they believe is safe for America. As far as Idahoans are concerned, do any of you really care about Trump being back on Twitter?
