Opinion: Samsung Appliance Woes Aren’t Just A Twin Falls Issue
Purchasing new appliances for a home is a decision most people will have to make in their lifetime. One major appliance company has issued so many recalls in the past decade that it became a topic of conversation among Twin Falls social media users, and don't get me started either.
Expensive sure as hell doesn't mean higher quality. The noises, debris, and smells coming out of our home appliances are insane.
I remember growing up my parent's home appliances seemed to run forever without any issues. We had the same washing machine for an eternity it felt like. Maybe home appliances were just built better fifty years ago than they are today.
I have a major gripe with Samsung at the moment. Expensive sure as hell doesn't mean higher quality. The noises, debris, and smells coming out of our home appliances are insane.
Our washing machine, dryer, and refrigerator are all Samsung. We're talking over $5,000 in appliances, and the amount of repairs we've had to make to keep these machines operating correctly are mind-blowing.
I recently came across a Magic Valley / Rants and Raves thread that had to do with southern Idaho Samsung owners dealing with the same issues. One lady posted a question about where to have her appliances fixed and it was obvious how people felt about Samsung.
I had heard the company has been taking a lot of heat as of late, but I didn't realize the sheer volume of recalls that have been issued by Samsung in recent years. Our refrigerator has a fan that freezes up every eight weeks and it makes a grinding noise that's so annoying it has to be addressed immediately. We just had to replace the heating coil in the dryer and our washing machine was hemorrhaging mold to the point we had to dismantle it and use a pressure washer to clean it.
From recalls on ranges to fridges, and washers to dryers, I'm now fully able to understand just how much of a headache these machines are causing consumers. If you're experiencing similar issues, I'd reach out to the company about any warranty that might still be active. It's not a bad idea to have that toolbox nearby either, and there are dozens of YouTube videos that walk people through how to make successful repairs.
Good luck!
