Affirm Your Fandom With This New 13-Disc Marvel ‘Phase Two’ Blu-ray Box Set
So imagine you’re a person with only two big problems in life. The first is that you love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but don’t know how best to express your fandom. You’ve memorized all of the lines to Iron Man 2, you’ve gotten Sebastian Stan’s face tattooed on your chest, you’ve named your firstborn child Loki, you’ve 3D-printed a scale replica of Ultron and mounted its head above your fireplace, and maybe you’ve even started asking around about that experimental black-market surgery that would enable you to turn green when agitated. But still, you feel as if there might be a better way to prove your undying devotion to the MCU, and you can’t quite figure out what it is. Your other problem is that you have too much money.
Today, Marvel proudly presents a solution to both of those problems with the all-new Phase Two Collector’s Edition box set. Weighing in at thirteen discs, this ultimate status symbol among Marvelites collects the Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and digital-only editions of Iron Man 3, Thor: the Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Captain America: the Winter Soldier, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. The lavish collection also includes a bonus disc with nearly three hours of supplemental material, such as a series of canonically vital One-Shot shorts revolving around tertiary characters and From Here to Infinity, a documentary with the MCU’s filmmakers about the connections between the universe’s many entries. The box set, available for preorder only on Amazon, will put true believers back $220.
Surely the purchase will provide a little more bang for so much buck, and indeed it does. Beyond the discs, the new package comes complete with a whole mess of assorted Marvel-relevant items, including a replica of an orb containing one of the coveted Infinity Stones, a gold-foil sheet from the Book of Dark Elves, and sew-on patches from The Avengers and S.T.R.I.K.E. Those patches in particular would certainly make a great conversation piece, mostly for conversations that begin with, “Hey, did you also spend over two hundred dollars to own three copies of six different Marvel movies?”
