There could be more unauthorized student walkouts from area schools this week but they probably won’t be much of a surprise.  Students at some area schools have been staging “walkouts” this week in protest of School Supt. Tom Luna’s proposed education plan.  Another walkout had been planned for yesterday at Jerome High School but it was changed at the last minute.  The walkout, organized by some of the sophomore students, was postponed and will be held Friday instead.  Students have been taking tests this week and the walkout would have interrupted the testing process.  Students were told they would be marked absent if they walked out but those absences would be excused if the school had prior approval from the parents.  A student walkout occurred on Monday in the Treasure Valley and other areas of the state, and on Tuesday in Twin Falls.
