TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)-Authorities were called to the Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls Wednesday evening to rescue a person that got stuck along the canyon wall. According to information published on the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Facebook page a man got separated from a group of people when he took a trail down into the canyon. The sheriff's office says crews were dispatched at around 7:10 p.m. near the shopping center near the canyon.

Rescue crews rappelled into the canyon with help from Twin Falls Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics and Twin Falls Search and Rescue. The hiker, who is from out of town, got down about 150 to 200 feet into the canyon but couldn't figure out how to get out because of the dark.

At around 9:20 p.m. crews were able to get to him and pull him out. The man didn't appear to have any injuries but may have been a little cold. The Magic Valley Paramedics Special Operations Rescue Team, also known as SORT, also helped in the rescue.
