velop shops and restaurants along the south side of the Snake River Canyon in Twin Falls is coming back to life.  The project was put on hold at the beginning of the recession.  The Times News reports today that the Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission will hear a presentation from representatives of Neilsen and Co. who are proposing the development once again. The project, known as Canyon Park North, would include a 10-story hotel with a convention center, several large national chain stores and many smaller boutique-style stores. The development has been in the works in some form since 1997.  During the meeting today, Gerald Martens of EHM Engineers will ask the commission for a zoning district change that would allow for a commercial mixed-use development.  If the zoning change is approved, it would affect 25 acres of Snake River Canyon rim property between Blue Lakes Boulevard and Canyon Springs Road.
