Proposed Retail Mall In Twin Falls Crosses One More Hurdle

There may soon be a new shopping mall in Twin Falls.  This one will be located along the Snake River Canyon Rim west of the Perrine Bridge and north of the Golden Corral Restaurant.  Last night the Twin Falls City Council approved a change that will allow for the development of the shopping center.  The vote, however, was not unanimous, at 5 in favor and two against.

That area has long been planned for retail but the recession put it on hold for the last three years.  Now that the economy is beginning to pick up plans are being rekindled for it.  A public hearing will be held at 6 o’clock this evening before the Twin Falls City Planning and Zoning Commission on the matter.  The public will have a chance to weigh in on the proposed development. The meeting will be held in the Twin Falls City Council chambers.
